Christmas Party 2008! - December 20th 2008
Although the weather kept us from having our party on it's original date Friday December 19th .. the weather could not keep us from having a wonderful party the following day after classes December 20th. Parents, students, siblings and friends came out for an event that the students look forward to all year! SWS had our party catered by Renaissance Catering and the did a fabulous job! There were tons of games and contests to enter and there was over $800.00 worth of prizes handed out!
We added some more games to the mix this season with "Pass The Present" and "Adult Simon Says!". Each youth game we played had two rounds one 12yrs and under and one 12yrs and up. It was great to see even the teens be kids! After our games we were fortunate to have Evan Stewart with us again this season and he and Patrick Derry performed the skit "The Prince from Far Far Away". Both men had the audience in stitches and it was a great opening for our "So You Think You Can Dance Competition". This year we had three judges. One Almitra McMillan- a long lost relative of Simon Cowell, Evan Dog - the judge who was very hip, and Snow Bellssssssssa- the Snow boarding Elf from the North Pole. All three judges gave their comments for each routine. All routines were choreographed by the students themselves .. even the little one 7-9yrs! All music movements and song selections were done by the students and this years competition was the best yet!
Congratulations to all of our winners, and thank you to all who volunteered their time to help decorate and run games! We look forward to adding some more activities next season!
