
Miss Sheelah Brouwer -
Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Drama and Lyrical Instructor
Miss Brouwer has studied several dance syllabi including B.A.T.D, C.D.T.A., R.A.D., A.D.A.P.T., Cecchetti, Graham, Limon, and Horton. Outside of her syllabi training Miss Brouwer has studied the history, anatomy, kinesiology, composition, choreography, improvisation and pedagogy of dance.
Now a graduate of York University's dance program Miss Brouwer has her Bachelors of Fine Arts Specialist Honors Degree majoring in Dance. In addition to holding a BFA Spec Hons, Miss Brouwer has also completed her Bachelors of Education at York University, which landed her a teaching position as a high school educator teaching dance and/or visual art. Currently Miss Brouwer is teaching dance at Clarington Central Secondary School in Bowmanville.
Further more, Miss Brouwer's has been fortunate to work with many great choreographers, such as Darcy Callison, Carol Anderson, Holly Small, Jennifer Bolt and Matthew Waldie. The influence of these choreographers led her to establish herself as a choreographer. In Spring of 2004, Miss Brouwer choreographed a piece for Peterborough's 'Emergency #12', and in 2006, Miss Brouwer choreographed and performed at the TIDF affiliated with the FIDA festival.
