Hair & Dress Code
We ask all female students keep their hair long enough to be pulled into a low ponytail and bangs long enough to be pinned back in a pouf. This is our competitive Hairstyle and is required of every female. If you require a haircut please speak with the Directors or if you are unsure about the guidelines when deciding on a haircut. SWS has a dress code for ALL competitive students.
COMPETITIVE BREAK DANCE CREW STUDENTS REQUIREMENTS Students on the Competitive Breakdance Crew are asked to wear baggy pants (no jeans permitted-SWS track pants recommended), a loose fitting top and indoor running shoes.
PART TIME AND NOVICE/ADVANCED STUDENTS COMPANIES ABCDE REQUIREMENTSBALLET/POINTE CLASS - Ballet classes require all students to be wearing ALL black dance wear. (body suit or half top and dance shorts are permitted all to be in the colour of black.) Proper shoes and tights are needed please view the shoe requirement chart. Boys-Bright coloured t shirt and black board shorts.
JAZZ/LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY/JUMPS/TURNS/EXTENSION & CHOREOGRAPHY CLASS - Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jumps, Turns, Extension & Choreography classes all require black dance shorts, bare legs and a bright coloured half top. (your choice of colour.) Proper shoes and tights are needed please view the shoe requirement chart.
Boys-Bright coloured t shirt and black board shorts.
TAP CLASS - Tap classes require a bright coloured half top (a bright coloured loose top to wear over this is also permitted), black dance shorts/pants OR SWS track pants. Proper shoes and tights are needed please view the shoe requirement chart. Boys-Bright coloured t shirt and black board shorts. (pants also permitted)
HIP HOP/VOCAL DRAMA CLASS - Hip Hop, Vocal and Drama classes require a bright coloured half top with a bright coloured loose fitting top to wear over, SWS track pants and indoor running shoes. Boys-Bright coloured t shirt and SWS track pants.
PLEASE NOTE *Shorts must be long enough to cover the entire bottom and tops must fully cover the chest area -no revealing tops. *To keep things fun throughout the season SWS hosts spirit days approx once per month. For information of upcoming spirit days please watch your monthly newsletter.
