To The Extreme - May 6th, 2007

Step with Style's Intermediate and Senior competitive team attended the To The Extreme dance competition located in Toronto Ontario on May 6th 2007. What an amazing showing the students had!

Throughout the competition our studio was recognized time and time again for outstanding choreography as well as our young performers amazing showmanship! With over 90% of our soloists being awarded Adjudicator's Specialty Awards we could not be more proud!! SWS performers won 19 first place awards and 5 second place awards! Congratulations to all!!!!

Specialty Awards

In order to receive a specialty award a dancer or group must take make quite an impression on the adjudicator. Every adjudication the selected judge chooses the routines that caught their attention and presents the awards. These awards could be given for a number of reasons, but any dancer or group that receives a specialty award should feel very honoured! The judge takes time to explain to the audience why they thought the dancer or group of dancers stood out to them. Dancers on Step with Style's competitive team received numerous specialty awards at To The Extreme! Congratulations to the following dancers and groups!

What a way to start the competition! This was Madison's first solo on stage as well as SWS's first routine performed of the day. Madison received this award for performing her routine with outstanding energy!

All dancers of our Inter/Senior hip hop group rocked the stage with their sharp isolations! Congratulations!

Lively Leaps!

Jazz Group 15yrs "I Need More" All dancers in our Inter/Senior jazz group poured all of their energy into their jazz routine making each and every jump count!

Fantastic Flow!

Lyrical Group 15yrs "Natural Woman" All dancers of our Inter/Senior lyrical group gave an incredible and smooth performance of their routine earning them the Fantastic Flow Award!

Over All Awards

Overall awards are given for the top five marks of the entire competitions entries for this certain category. (For example every Junior solo age 12 and under no matter what discipline is looked at for the top five marks for overall Junior soloist. The same is done with groups, lines, productions etc.)

CONGRATULATIONS TO ANGELA CASALINO!!!!

Angela was the winner of a $500 dollar scholarship for the Be Discovered Program! Adjudicators chose Angela out of over 500 dancers! Angela has been given the chance to join the Be Discovered Team in L. A. for the opportunity of lifetime! She will get to train with instructors from all over the world. Some of whom even train dancers that perform on "So You Think You Can Dance?!" Congratulations Angela we wish you all the best on your trip!
