Drama Intensive Workshop with Lindsay Kaplan -

What a workshop we just had!!!! Students from Step with Style as well as visitors had an amazing time with Lindsay Kaplan in our first ever drama workshop! Lindsay related her drama workshop to dancing on stage by working on expressing emotion without evening saying a word. This is an amazing skill for all dancers to have! Throughout the workshop many acting techniques were used to help dancers get out of their comfort zone and express different characters and emotions.
All students were lead through exercises that worked on action and reactions with other fellow actors/actresses. At the end of the class all students performed a small skit with characters that each level (Junior etc) could relate to. All levels Pre-Junior, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior participated and had a wonderful time! Thank You Lindsay! We look forward to having Lindsay with us full time next season!

Lindsay Kaplan - Workshop Instructor
Lindsay was part of the competitive team at Toronto's Dance Machine, and won numerous first place awards in all dance genres. At the very prestigious B.C. Dance Competition, she placed first for her tap solo out of 100 dancers from across North America.
Lindsay later trained at The Randolph Performance Academy in dance, drama, and vocal, where she was taught by some of the most sought after teachers in the industry.
She then worked abroad on Royal Caribbean and Sunquest Cruise Lines as a singer/dancer and dance captain for the production shows. Lindsay worked in Legends On Tour as a Christina Aguilera impersonator, Paramount Canada's Wonderland Tribute Show, back-up dancer for country singer Michelle Wright at Casino Niagara, and performed various musical theatre routines for the Comedy Network.
Over the past year, she was living in London, England where she trained at the famous Pineapple studios with Mark Battershall, and now she is back in Toronto teaching dance, vocal and musical theatre workshops.
With over 10 years experience teaching jazz, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre, Lindsay's passion and excitement in all of her classes, helps to build her students confidence, as well as learning to sing, dance and act from the heart.
